Seriously if he puts me on another bus....

So...Jason decided we needed to take a bus this morning. For real. Why do I not just let him go and wait for him on the other side? TWO HOURS LATER we make it to the station which is a ten minute walk from the convent.

So I started making sock puppets with my scarf.

Ok, did not mean for there to be three sock puppets, but I can't read Italian and it won't go away.

So...after reaching the station, figuring out how to get to Viterbo, we are on our way!

An hour later we arrive at Viterbo. We had an awesome day! This has been our favorite spot so far on the trip. It is a Medieval town with a cool history. The popes use to use it as a place to go and relax. There are some very cool websites on the internet about this little town. If you ever come this way, there is a great bed and breakfast for very cheap right in the heart of the town.

As you enter the town, there is a map that lays out a nice walk for you. This gives you the chance to see everything. The walk is an easy one, but nicer if it is warm and not raining (neither of which we had the chance to enjoy), but still a nice walk with gorgeous views. It is quiet and not crowded. A big change from Rome. Here are a few great pictures...

This last picture is of the place I previously wrote about where you can see them paint ceramics and paint your own. We didn't paint any (they said we had to go somewhere else for that and we had a language problem), but you know us...we did buy some. Well, one. They handpaint with special paint on a special type of stone from the region made from volcanic ash. I just hope we get it home in one piece.

Well, tomorrow is Pompeii and Naples. Volcanoes and pizza! TTFN!

Just talked to Aunt Carolyn. She and Joe read your blog today. He was going to help her reply, but they couldn't find your e-mail address. She asked me to tell you she tried! P.S. She got a voice mail today that said her court case has been postponed...again. LY

The sock puppets are amusing and cute. Did you name them too? Maybe you should get an Italian dictionary. I know, or I thought, you said you had an Italian phrase book. That village looks neat, I like uncrowded villages. Take more pictures of random things, and when you're walking down the street, take a picture of just what your eyes see as you're walking down the street, as in, don't zoom in on anything. I want to see what you see and not just buildings (although that's cool too, don't get me wrong). Now, all these years later I wish I had more pictures like that from Russia instead of all the buildings/architecture. It gives others more of a sense of what it's like to be there, kind of like the food shots...as if the camera were in your eye. Have fun! :)
