Rome Day One

It is 8pm here in Rome. We have spent the whole day walking. We had to get up at 5am to catch the flight over here. We found the convent (very nice, but the nuns speak German?) then headed out to the Colosseum and Paletine Hill. We tried to figure out the bus system, but waited for thirty minutes for a bus that never came. We will work on that tomorrow.
The ruins are great. They are also everywhere. We just wandered and came across some. We have pictures of things we do not know the names of. Anyway, tomorrow we are taking a full day tour. That should give us some bearings and lots of picture opportunities. I am looking forward to not having to walk far. Our feet are killing us!
I left the card reader at the room, so I will post lots of pictures tomorrow. Chow!

The nuns speak German?!? Are you sure?!? That's a little strange. I forgot, are you eating there too?! What does it look like inside the convenant? I think it's a riot that you waited 30 mins for a bus that never came. I know, you didn't think it was all that funny, but I can only imagine. Maybe tomorrow you'll have the transportation system figured out. Take pictures of the food too!! :)

It sounds like you are having a great time. I went to arobics Monday. Kim asked about you. It isn't the same without your company. Look forward to seeing all pictures! Sharon

Hi M&J--

I'm so glad to hear you're having a good time on your trip! We've been thinking about you guys. Keith and I were doing this little survey the other day and it asked where he would like to go more than any place in the world and he replied "Italy." So....we may have to get some travel tips from you guys in the future!

Let's see, I'm in Selma, Alabama right now, the Stewards are on a beach in Florida somewhere and you guys are in Rome, Italy. I'm thinking I got the short end of the straw here! :-)

Hugs to you both.

Green with envy I remain,
Katie
